The Toad Hall 10km and 5km runs was held on Sunday 3rd July 2011.
NEW 5km race will start at 10.50am.
This is a relatively flat course through the village and along bridleways back to the village green – avoiding dropping down to the river, and more importantly having to come back up! This is open to secondary school children ( year 7 ) as well as adults. Entries for under 18s must be submitted by a parent or guardian, accepting the standard disclaimer on their behalf.
The 10km race will start at 10.45am.
This is a fantastic run on lanes and paths towards the river and through beech woods, making the most of the area’s natural beauty and is aimed at club and fun runners alike. As it’s approximately half off-road we can’t get the distance certified but we have measured it to be an accurate 10k. Minimum Age is 15yrs on day of race.
The race is organised by the Whitchurch School Association in aid of sport-related projects at the Primary and Pre-school.
The start and finish of both races is at Whitchurch Hill village green where there will be a BBQ and refreshments, entertainment for spectators, children’s activities and trade stands. First Aid cover and drinks stations will be provided.
The course record stands at 36:33 by Chris Dettmar and Sam Amend has set the ladies’ benchmark at 41:21.
Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 and winners of the vets (40+) and Super Vets (50+) in both the men’s and ladies’ 10k races and for various categories in the 5k.
All finishers will receive a quality medal for their efforts.
